Heart-beat skipping

Howdy, people.
I am feeling a bit like a grumpy old git today. There are (valid?) reasons why that is so, but nevermind that, because I don't really want to feel like a grumpy old git. Especially because I am neither old, nor a git. ;-)
So I'll do the opposite to moaning and groaning and this is it: say thank you. To you, especially.
You who stumble upon my little blog. You who reads the blog regularly (wow, thank you so much!) You who leaves a comment from time to time. You who sends me an email out of the blue.
And thank you very much to you has supported my work in some form or the other. Thank you for that encouraging comment or email that seems to appear just when I need it the most. Or for buying something from my wee shop.
Especially the last bit. Do you know how much that means? To you it probably isn't a big deal, but to me it is. Every single time I receive an email telling me that someone, somewhere in the world, has bought something I made, my heart skips a beat. It really, truly does. So thank you, thank you for so much more heart-beat skipping than I could have ever imagined.
Thank you, I even feel less grumpy now. ;-)Labels: thank you

Thank you flowers
Sometimes weird things happen... A little while ago I came across a pretty blog called Blossom Daily. Then, the other day, completely out of the blue, I got an email from Sarah who writes Blossom Daily. Here's the weird thing: I'd not commented or left any other trace of my visit to her blog. So it was just one of those strange coincidences! But a very happy one. And look at this lovely post she's written about my little ol' blog. Thank you, Sarah - it totally made my day. :-)
And, blimey, like that wasn't enough, this morning I received an email from Susie of Flower Press. She's very kindly included me in a post about embroidery that she loves. And boy, is it all lovely! Thank you, Susie!
Do go check out both these ladies. Definitely worth 'wasting' atleast a few minutes of interwebby surfing time. :-)Labels: thank you

Thank you
I love the flowers on our little teeny tiny balcony - which is more like a ledge with bars in front. These smell so lovely, especially on a hot day.. very sweet. I think they are called Penstemon.
And how about my tomatoes!? It is growing like mad and I can't wait to eat tomatoes that I grew myself. Imagine that you can do that on teeny tiny ledge! :-)
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for all the comments about the Tree of Life embroidery. I am really happy that you like it, so that means a lot. And very grateful to those of you who have bought the pattern. I would really love to see what you make with it!
I want to make more patterns, and several are underway. It's funny, I sometimes go months at a time where I don't do any embroidery, mostly because I think "Oh it takes forever to embroider something, why don't I do some crochet instead!" And that's just silly. Embroidery isn't that time consuming; and even if it were, it would be time well spent. So, no more silly excuses, I am going to do more embroidery!
And I am going to do a series of posts of embroidery stitches. I already have some ideas for this and I'll tell you all about that very soon.
For now, thank you so much!Labels: thank you

Beautiful in red
I keep meaning to show off this beautiful brooch. It is a wee beautiful present from Jesse (thank you!). How lucky am I?! I love it to bits. And I am so afraid to loose (lose??!) it that I have yet to wear it outside the house. Instead it sits on my keyboard looking pretty.
Y'all must definitely check out Jesse's beautiful shop. Not least the brooches!
...I wonder if I've gone over the quota for using the word 'beautiful' in one post? Well, it's the only word that fits, so there! ;-)Labels: oh so pretty, thank you

Thank yous
I have a few thank you cards to hand out to lovely people who have kindly featured the blog and such.
First, Sarah of Babazeka contacted me asking if she could talk about me on her blog. Of course! It is a really lovely blog - with lots of colour, yay! You must check it out. Thank you, Sarah. :-)
A little while ago, Amy mentioned me in the "7 New Ways To Appreciate Crochet" post on 7 of. 7 of is very interesting in that there is '7 of' something in each blog post. And those somethings are usually also very interesting and inspiring. Definitely one to check out as well. Thanks, Amy!
Also, thank you to both Craft and Craftstylish for mentioning the Bicycle Seat Crochet Cover!Labels: thank you

Serenity
Time management is not one of my strongest suits, so I am always rushing around gettings in order for when my dear husband comes home from work. There's really no need for him to see exactly how messy and all over the place I can be (hello, living room floor full of fabric!)
But today, everything is done, the housework, going to the shops - all before lunch! Heck, I even prepared everything for dinner! I feel so serene, I can't believe it! So now all I have to do is sit here and look pretty. Even today's crafting session wasn't a messy one.
Anyway, I really just wanted to point you in the direction of Linda's blog The Best Free Craft Articles. As the name says; lots of free how-to's and stuff. There's a cool list of crafty podcasts that I must check out at some point. She is even featuring a few of my tutorials at the moment! For example, how to decorate a cup or mug, my yellow mobile and more. Pretty awesome! Thanks, Linda!
Also, just to let Jesse and my sister know: yesterday I finally sent your small but pretty prizes from the 1000 posts giveaway. Hope you like 'em! Sorry about the delay, but what can you do? Time management = not my strongest suit. ;-)
The picture is from my parents' garden when we were there last September. The tree is my dad's apple tree. My dad's. And don't you forget it. ;-)Labels: just stuff, thank you

Overdue thank you
A little while ago, Jen posted about this super cute bunting. I commented on it and then, because such coloured round stickers are not readily available here (please correct me if I'm wrong!), she offered to send me some!! If that ain't flippn' nice, I don't know what is!
They arrived about a week ago..? The last two weeks are a bit fuzzy, I must admit, which is also why this thank you is a bit late. But I did send Jen a wee thank you, which you can see here. :-)
Now I just have to think of something cool to make with these round lovelies. Maybe bunting for my own birthday! He he. Thank you very much, Jen!Labels: thank you

I love rikrak
Ooooh, I hope you don't mind a bit of shamelessly beating my own drum? The Amazing Kristal of rikrak asked if she could do a little somethin' somethin' about me and now it is up on her fantastic blog. Yay! You should of course totally check it out, and while you are there, check out the rest of her blog (and her beautiful shop!) - she's got a giveaway at the moment in celebration of her 2 year Etsy-versary - hooray!
And then, if you haven't had enough of her yet, have a read of the lovely interview I did with her in December '07.
Thank you, K!Labels: thank you
