Dracula sweets
Maybe I should have waited to post this in 3 weeks or so... No idea what they actually have to do with Dracula.
Nevermind. These are some of my favourite Danish sweets. Salty liquorice hard candy. Salty powder over a hard sweet inner. Yummy. Funny how tastes are different from country to country; I think not many people outside of Denmark/Scandinavia would find this salty liquorice taste appealing.
Also, isn't the packaging pretty awesome? I don't think it has changed in all the time I remember it (except that I am pretty darn sure that there's less in the bag these days than when I was little!). Totally old skool. :-)

Sweets + random memories
I never had these until the other day when one of my colleagues offered me one. I like them. They remind me of sweets I had when I was little, visiting my grandparents. Or being on holiday with my parents in the caravan in the south of Jutland (the part of Denmark that's stuck to the top of Germany). We'd nip over the border to Germany to buy beer and vine (my parents, obviously!) and my sister and I would get what seemed like PILES of sweets. Alcohol and sweets = cheaper in Germany. ;-)
I like the wrappers too. Happy colours and cute images. I love sweet wrappers... Sticking these in my sketchbook, I think.Labels: sweeties
