Sugar sweet
Isn't that a cute packaging? Love the colours and the font. And the cake illustration is super cute. It has a very vintage feel. Can't you just see someone using this in the 50s?Labels: design

H&M Home
Because you can only buy H&M Home stuff in Scandinavia (and only online), I had a catalogue sent to my parents' house so I could have a wee browse. You can see most of the pictures online, but sometimes it is nice to be able to turn physical pages, right? Plus, the H&M site is mostly Flash and that slows down my browser (= major annoyance!).
I thought maybe you'd like a peek at the catalogue too? I've taken some quick shots (so they are not top quality pics, sorry) of some of the pages I like the most. I made a set on Flickr with more pictures for your drooling-over-lovely-design pleasure. Needless to say, I wouldn't mind having most of these things in my home! ;-)

H & M Home
OMG! The new H & M Home line is ALMOST HERE! One week to go. Waaaah! From the pictures it looks very intriguing with some must-have pieces. I better get on the phone to tell my mum what to get me for my birthday! ;-) Click on the picture below for a larger version.
These pictures are screen shots from the Danish H&M website. You can find a press release about it all here + more pictures in detail. Apparently, this will not be awailable everywhere, but it will be in Denmark and probably rest of Scandinavia. Huzzah!Labels: design, shop 'til you drop

Helvetica
Have you seen this film? It's called Helvetica and, well, it's about Helvetica. But not just that. It's also about people who use it and love it passionately. And people who dislike it with just as much passion. It has interviews with lots of graphic designer and typographers, like Stefan Sagmeister, David Carson, Matthew Carter and loads more.
It gives you an insight into how Helvetica was made, how it's been used and the impact it has had on visual culture and graphic design in the past 50 years. One of the things I especially like about this film is that it shows loads of places where Helvetica is used: street signs, logos, mugs and anything you can think of. It's everywhere, so much so that we probably don't notice it and the inspiring thing is seeing all the different expressions people can get out of it. I think you should get your paws on this film. It's really good!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to look for Helvetica.Labels: design, film, inspiration
