    Hello!
Thank you very much for visiting. My name is Carina and I am a Danish girl living in Essex, England. I am happily married to a sweet and funny English guy. My immediate family is very thinly spread across the globe: my parents live in Denmark, my sister and her husband live in California. It is not often that we are all together at the same time.

I design colourful embroidery patterns. Paint paintings with polar bears. Crochet and sew happy accessories. Stare out of windows and like the colour green. When I was little I wanted to become an astronomer.

Can I post your tutorial on my blog/website?
Unfortunately no. I spend a lot of time making the tutorials: getting the idea, gathering the appropriate materials, creating the item in question, taking pictures, editing pictures and writing the tutorial. I do all this for free because I enjoy it and hope I can inspire or help others in some small way. The tutorials are free for anyone to enjoy on my blog.
Can I translate your tutorial and post it on my blog/website?
    Sorry, no. See above.
Can I post your pictures on my blog/website?
Yes - IF you do the following:
    - use only 1 or maybe 2 (at most)
    - save the image to your own webserver, don't pull the image directly
    - credit me
    - link directly to the post where you found the image - linking just to www.wardi.dk isn't helpful to anyone
    - you can't post my images on sites dealing with religion or politics
    - and please let me know if you post my image, I'd love to see what they get up to
Can I post a link to your ****** tutorial on my blog/website?
Definitely! And thank you! But please credit me. And if you want to add an image from my blog, that is fine too, please see the previous question.
    Hey, where's my comment at?
Was it rude or spiteful or otherwise unpleasant? If it was, then it has been deleted. If you posted as Anonymous, it has probably been deleted too. If you didn't mean to comment as 'Anonymous', please make the comment again with your name/link/alias and it'll appear. If it hasn't then it is probably awaiting approval. It will appear on the blog very soon.
Hey, I emailed you but you haven't replied...
I might not have received your email. Email isn't perfectly, 100% fool-proof, unfortunately. I may have archived or deleted it by mistake; I am not perfect either. It is not uncommon for me to be a bit slow, because I like to think about my response. Uh, and I may just have plain forgot. If it has been more than 2 weeks since you sent your email, please feel free to email me again!
I nominated you for an award, tagged you in a meme, please play along!
Oh goodness, thank you so much! But I really, really suck at this sort of thing, so if I skip it, it is nothing personal. It's not because I haven't seen your comment or because I don't want to play along. I am terribly honoured that you'd think of me. Thank you heaps!
Do you want to swap links with me?
Maybe! But I probably won't if you email me just to ask that. Sorry. I will link to your blog/site if I like it, not just because you link to my site. Links are an expression of some kind of 'relationship', not just a numbers game...
Will you put a link to my business on your blog/site?
Unpaid advertising, you mean? No, I won't do that. I occasionally mention and link to companies I like, simply because I like/know them and their wares.
Can I advertise on your blog?
Absolutely! Please contact me for details: carinascraftblog AT googlemail DOT com

Can I sell items with your embroidery designs?
No. Not unless you buy the rights to do so. Buying an embroidery pattern is not the same as buying the rights to reproduce the patterns for financial gain.
Can I sell your embroidery designs?
No. Unless we have a wholesale agreement, you are not allowed to sell my patterns.
Can I make x number copies of a pattern and pass it around to my friends/crafting group/class?
No. You're buying one pattern, not an unlimited amount. Imagine going into a store and buying 1 TV and then taking a box for each of your friends without paying for it. Would you do that? Please contact me for a "sharing license" before distributing my patterns.
Do you wholesale anything of what you make?
I do in some cases. Get in touch and let's talk about it!

Help! I don't know anyone who can teach me to crochet - is there a book that can crack the code for me?!
Yes, there is! Or at least it helped me! Get yourself to the library or nearest book shop and get your sticky fingers on Stitch 'n Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller. It will tell you everything you need to know to get started. And beyond!
Why do my crochet squares look weird?
I don't know! But it could be because you are using the wrong size crochet hook with your yarn. Or maybe you have left out some stitches? I sometimes forget the ch2 bit in the corners and that makes my squares look pretty strange. If you are really stuck, please send me a photo of the wonky square and I'll try my best to help.
I am trying to crochet a pattern that tells me to use double crochet stitches but it is looking really weird, what am I doing wrong?
It could be because you are used to UK crochet terms and the pattern is using US crochet terms. Or vice versa. US double crochet is the name for UK treble stitch, for example.
Where do you get the wave/ripple pattern?
It's a beauty, isn't it? It is from a book by Jan Eaton called 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns
How do you make a granny square?
Have a look at this tutorial, I hope it helps!
    What yarn do you use?
I normally use cotton yarn, from a Danish brand called Grønhøj Garn. It is 100% cotton and super soft. Plus it comes in loads of different colours! You can read more about the yarn in this blog post.
Where do/can you buy the yarn?
As far as I know, it is only available to buy in Denmark. Some online retailers will ship outside Denmark, but the cost of shipping may be quite high and usually the websites are in Danish. There are a couple of links to online shops in this blog post.
Where do you buy your fabrics?
I mostly buy my fabrics in a shop in Denmark called Stof og Stil, but I also frequent charity shops and shops online. And IKEA! Although their fabric isn't really suitable for clothing if that's what you're itching to sew.
I really want to make xxxxx that I saw on your site, can you tell me how to do it?
Well, first of all, have a search to see if there's a tutorial on the site. If not, then it is either so easy that you should be able to figure it out if you know the basics of whatever craft it's in. Or it could be that I am horrible and mean and just don't want to share.
