We're looking forward to snow

And hopefully, they'll have plenty in Denmark.

Back next week!

Well worth getting up at 6.55 for

We woke up to this...

Isn't that the most perfect sight?! Unfortunately, it didn't last more than a few hours.

There should be more of the white stuff in the coming days, but I think both T and I agree that we'd like it to wait till we're in Denmark. We don't want to risk getting stuck on the way to or at the airport!

Hopefully we'll get snow in Denmark too!

Normally, I have several lists, made days in advance, about what to pack and do and such whenever we go to Denmark. But this time I haven't! Apart from one in my journal, but that's nowhere as detailed as they usually are. It is very odd...

Anyone else an obsessive list maker too?

She's in

I guess it was pretty obvious that she would be. I wonder, will she be running with Oprah as VP?

Alphabeat

Wow, I almost can't believe it: in a week we'll be in Denmark! I can't wait!

If you want to hear a happy, funky song, click on this here link and then click on the 10,000 Nights of Thunder song in the player on the right side. It's by a Danish group called Alphabeat. I don't think there's a video for it yet...

Enjoy!

No more Motorola

Remember I got a new phone three months ago? Well, that didn't last long, we sold it on ebay the other day. As cool and sleek as the Motorola SLVR looked on the outside, I didn't find it to be particularly good.

Compared to my old phone (Panasonic X70) it was really difficult to use. Not very intuitive. The hierarchies of the menus seemed completely illogical and some things had stupid names. Like "Initial setup", what do you think that is??

I think there should be some kind of common terminology for mobile phones... would make it so much easier to switch between different brands. But at least now I know that I'm not gonna get another Motorola.

So for the moment I'm sticking with the Panasonic (thank goodness I never got round to selling that one!). The clam shell design of it is much better for me anyway; less risk of accidentally calling people. ;-)

Switch twitch

I'm contemplating moving my blog to the new version of Blogger. And I probably have to at some point. I doubt they'll keep the two "systems" going side by side forever.

It's just that I'm a wee bit worried about it. Because I'm hosting my own blog, and I can imagine all sorts of problems happening if I switch. Like all the archives getting muddled or the entire thing being deleted for good!

Yikes! Imagine that: more than two years worth of blogging, 1000+ posts, all gone in an instant. Bloody hell! No...it's not keeping me up at night. ;-)

Today...

I made gifts for baby niece, T went grocery shopping.
We saw the new niece and played with nephew.
Chocolate iced donuts from Krispy Kreme are heavenly, but surely sinful.
T didn't find new shoes but I got a soft, soft, soft angora/wool cardigan.
Harry Potter was on TV and I had chocolate mousse.
Then I got the hiccups and later so did T.

Could it be? Yes! Link dumpage!

In an effort to tidy up some of the links I keep accumulating, here are a few, all via BoingBoing.

How not to apply for a job in Dubai. Oh man... too funny!

Paintings of giant electrical cords. Now that's art!

Poodle exercise video. I'm speechless.

No address? No problem, just draw a map and Royal Mail will deliver it! I doubt that would happen here. Our posties seem slightly useless.

What 200 calories look like.

A Jaguar covered in Post-It notes! Hmmm... if they made Post-Its in camo colours, the military could use them, eh?

What London would (will) look like if the sea rises. Oh yeah, we'd be flooded too.

Battlestar Galacticsimpsons
.

A compilation of Wilhelms.

Fine arts and ad photoshopping contest.

James Bond title sequences
.

How to make candy sushi. I bet you've always wanted to do that...

Painting of a kid on an AT-AT. I want a pet like that!

Car pimped to the extreme.

Complete works of Charles Darwin online.

Open a bottle with a piece of paper.

The ghost of a Christmas tree...

What was our Christmas tree...
Originally uploaded by wardi.
Last year we had some trouble fun getting rid of our Christmas tree, because we had had it for about a month, so it was pretty dry when it came time to dispose of it.

This year T had the idea to cut off all the branches first, so we wouldn't get needles all over the place (getting a Christmas tree into a lift is also quite tricky...), and it worked perfectly.

But you had to feel just a little bit sorry for the remains of the tree sans branches...

Star Wars for the tree

Hey, look what we got for Christmas from my sister and her husband. Sweet, huh?

Unfortunately, Threepio has broken a leg, but I reckon with a blob of glue, he'll be as good as new.

The Boba Fett one isn't very well made, but I guess the Chinese worker "handcrafting" it got a bit bored at some point, eh?

There's another photo on Flickr which shows the rest of the set properly.

20Kth

Someone in Edmonton, Canada, became the 20,000th visitor to this blog; lead here by searching for paint tiles around bath tub?.

Not that I'm obsessed by the visitor stats... just thought it was funny... ;-)

How are you liking 2007 so far? Have you had any cake yet?
