Happy Halloween to all you people who, uhh, observe it. Don't eat too much candy! ;-)

The day off started off good

Happy mistake

I love Tuesday, cause that (and Saturday) is my day off. And because I'm the introvert that I am, it's vital (!) for me to have time just with me.

My job is noisy and full of people talking, talking, talking. And I don't mind that, but only for so long.

So I need quiet time to recharge my batteries. I can spend time doing the arty and crafty things that I love, which I have less time for on the other days.

Today I got out of bed and took my camera for a walk along the river. It was very windy, though not terribly cold, but it feels like autumn proper is coming ('bout time too, what with November starting tomorrow!).

I like feeling the wind blowing in my face early in the day. And listening to it rustling in the dry leaves on the trees. It was high tide, and the wind was skipping on the waves and the sun made them look like they were made of gold.

Here are some pictures from my morning walk.

Leonardo in motion

Check out these animations of some of Leonardo's drawings. Bloody awesome that is!

I'm knackered. Damn work type thing! ;-)

Autumn cozy

I'm a spring-loving kinda gal, but sometimes I totally dig autumn too. Like today. Because I came home from work and it was raining, so when I got indoors it was so nice to know that it's raining out there but I'm warm and dry in here. To make it feel even cozier, I lit candles.

And I guess it added to the feeling that I have the day off tomorrow. Can't wait for that! The last week had felt so so busy. When I wasn't at work, I was preparing for the craft fair, and of course, Saturday, which is my other day off, we were at the craft fair, so that wasn't terribly relaxing either.

So I think tomorrow I'm going to watch some West Wing, read some magazines, maybe do a little bit of crafting, but other than that, nothing at all!

My new gadget

As you can imagine, T is sooooooooo jealous! Ha! ;-) Maybe I'll let him play with it a liiiiiiiittle bit. ;-)

Getting this particular phone makes me happy, cause it's part of (PRODUCT) RED, so when you buy one Motorola makes a donation to eliminate AIDS in Africa. And that's a good thing.

Mr Zmeggy had fun!

T is starting his new job on Monday and he wanted to go see where it is and how long it'll take him to get there. Luckily, it looks like it'll take less time than he had feared.

I tagged along just for the heck of it, and because we wont be able to do something like this for some time to come, what with me starting my new job tomorrow.

Eep! I'm a wee bit nervous about it! Fingers crossed, eh?

Funny thing about that job...

...is that I had also applied for a Xmas temp job in our local Woolworths, but I didn't get that, but the manager there said that I'd be his first call if anything came up.

Anyway, so I got offered the job at Lakeside (the locel big shopping centre) a few days ago, and then we came home this afternoon and there was a couple of missed calls from our local Woolworths. So I called them and they had a job available there too. So I said yes to that because it's closer, like 5 mins walking distance.

And then I called the manager at the Lakeside store and he said that the job he was offering me was a permanent one as opposed to the other one which was only temporary. So I had a quick change of mind and had to call back the local one to say I was going for the other one after all.

It is so weird! After all this time not being able to find anything and then all of a sudden I have two offers at the same time!!

We're back!

We had a lovely time in Denmark these past few days. I flew over on Friday and T on Saturday. Both flights early in the morning, so T had to get up super-early both days. Poor T!

Saturday afternoon we went to Koldinghus Castle because we (well, I did) wanted to see an exhibition about the Edo period in Japan. But when we got there it turned out that it had ended several months ago. Total bummer! But the museum is nice anyway, so of course I've taken loads and loads of pictures - need to sort through those!

Sunday we went to the christening of my friends' little baby boy. A few of my other friends were there too, so it was nice to catch up with them too. Another couple of my friends had a baby girl a week before, so there were atleast two people that T was better at Danish than. ;-)

Monday and Tuesday we just hung out, I bought some crafty stuff and did some sewing. I had to make a few things for the craft fair although I was on holiday! And I bought some yarn so now I can do some more knitting. I didn't realise how much I missed it!

Oh, and last week I had participated in a thing at Woolworths at Lakeside and yesterday I called them and guess what?! Tomorrow I'm going there for an induction: I got a job as Xmas temp! :-)

To Taxi or not to Taxi

We tried to watch this film, but it was just too bad. "This is painful to watch", T said. And right he is. Everything is bad about that film: the music (tired old disco), the acting, the car, the driving, etc.

No, people, stick to the original French film. It is funny, in an understated way, it has great actors, and the (original!) music kicks ass! It's an ace film, even if you do have to put up with subtitles or dubbing (oh, the horror!) if you don't understand French.

Protected by witchcraft

Isn't it typical, when you haven't got your camera with you, you spot something you really want a picture of??

Like the car I saw today that had a bumper sticker with "protected by witchcraft".

Luckily, I think the car is often parked in that particular spot, so I think I can get that photo another day!
