I had a dentist appointment earlier today: about a week ago I noticed that a bit had been chipped off one of my molars. Unfortunately, it's one that had a filling, so he had to remove that and replace it.

I absolute hate the sound of the drill. It's just so horrible! Atleast the new filling is a nice white one, so it's not noticeable.

Going to the dentist made me so sleepy, maybe it's the local anasthetic...

Although I was quite tired before I went there. For the last couple of weeks I've not been sleeping well. I've had the weirdest dreams; cannibals, people that turn into big yellow snakes. The worst was last night, though: I was in a lift with Michael Jackson and it was plummeting to the bottom of the lift shaft.

What the hell is that about??

Is that entertainment?

Speaking of the pleasures of having Sky, I'm SO glad we didn't go for the sports package as our 'bonus' package (we picked movies). Cause it's bad enough with the extra sports channels we do have now!

Not that I mind sports as such, but some of them..they are just so ridiculous. In some cases I think it would be fair to debate whether they are sports at all. Like the thing called World Wrestling Entertainment. They seem to do very little actual wrestling, and a lot more, eh, entertaining (?).

The entertainment consisting of big guys in leotards and gold wrestling boots, yelling abuse at each other. It's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. And I can't avoid it, since T loves watching it.

Which makes me question his taste; it is usually good, but then he watches this sort of thing. Is he mad?? Should I be worried about him?!

The Girls!

We got Sky about a week ago, and that is great. Although there are still times when, despite having over a hundred channels, there's just nothing on worth watching! Isn't it funny how, nomatter how many or few channels you are able to watch, at times there just will be absolutely nothing on!?

T can now get his fix of his beloved Star Trek, Stargate, Charmed and whatever all those series are. I am happy to be able to watch the Gilmore Girls again.

Oh girls! I missed that. And Dean and Luke, even Lorelai's crazy mother!

At the moment they are showing episodes I've already seen, but that doesn't matter! Yesterday was the episode where Lorelai's mum goes crazy in the shopping mall and buys all these silly things and forces Rory and Lorelai to go shopping with her!

Stuff to keep you busy!

How Google looked in the past.

The Han Solo Carbonite Case Mod. And there's a mouse and a USB drive too.

Evil mad scientist. Here's some fun stuff to do. ;-)

Adoption centre - bunnyhero labs. Now even more animals to adopt.

What's the difference between a nerd, a geek, and a dork?

How to no nothing at work, and get away with it. Official office policy at DSB??

And somehow related: StealthSwitch.

usb wifi antenna. With ordinary house-hold products.

Original artwork and matte paintings for Episode III by Yanick Dusseault. If you only click on one of these links, let it be this one!

Iconic Star Wars moments done with LEGO. If it's a combination of Star Wars and LEGO, it can't be bad, huh?

Seamless pictures. Some pretty cool paintings.

An optical illusion with a castle. You won't believe your own eyes! Err..

Ok, I'm not exactly sure what this is, but it's kinda cool.

Manholes of Japan. Wow, you could put those on the wall!

I'm not particularly Blogger obsessed, although you might think so. If you're using Blogger too, maybe you noticed the little doggy with a party hat?? I think it may be Blogger's birthday. Not that I've bothered to look it up. It's not that important. I just thought it was cute. ;-)

I think I complained when it was so hot in July; maybe I should have kept my mouth shut. August has turned against us, not much sun, and rain almost every day. What is up with that?? It's supposed to be summer!

But it feels like autumn. Certainly has today. It's been raining all day. But it's barely September, it can't possibly be time for blankets and woolly socks already! I refuse to give up my flipflops already!

Anyone feeling autumn creeping up on you?

This morning we woke up to the sight of cars being clamped and some very grumpy people having to pay to get their cars released so they could get to work.

Serves them right for parking where they are not allowed. Especially those ones who can't even park straight. Just look at that Lexus, it's in the bloody middle of the road!

Of course now we're wondering how long it's going to last. And how much the management company is going to charge extra for this. Although, it's not really fair for the rest of us to have to pay for it...

A few silly things to keep you occupied

Go to Yahoo.com and click on the '!' in the logo. You will need speakers for this easter eg to work. ;-)

What does your choice of browser reveal about you?

Writely, Google's web word processor. Pretty cool if you ask me.

One of the coolest crop circles ever. If it's made by aliens, then it's pretty obvious which browser they prefer, huh? Very big picture, ye be warned, if you have a slow connection...

Hot Or Not Designs. Like the Hot Or Not for people, only about websites, you can vote on sites' designs.

Use Blogger? Maybe you'd like to check out their new beta features. Looks like these things will be rolled out on Blogger in general eventually. Some of it is really cool.

They'll be showing all the Star Wars films on Sky Movies soon. And we have decided to get Sky, so I'll be able to watch them!

Is it just me that gets super excited whenever SW is on telly? Although I have them all on DVD and can watch them whenever I want...

And for a split-second I actually considered recording them. Yeah.

Can you hear T laughing at me too??

More than a happy one

It's T's birthday today. I made these rolls for breakfast. They were pretty yummy if I do say so myself. In Denmark we put the Danish flag on the table at birthdays; we don't have an English flag, so it had to be the Danish one.

Apart from presents and other birthday lovely-ness, he was also offered a new job today. How's that for a birthday present?!

Happy birthday, my sweet T.

Long distance detail

You know, since T and Ilived in two different countries for the first two years, you'd think we were used to being apart. Not so. It is heart-breakingly difficult.

Possibly, it's because we were apart for so long, and it brings back memories of that in our hearts and bodies. Especially because this is forced upon us.

I sit here thinking about this, because I feel so grateful for being able to send him emails. He's at work, so phoning him is not so terribly good, you see. ;-)

And these are just emails of little consequence, about everyday things. But those are what matters most, I think. The familiarity of those things, the things we do. The everyday that is ours.

"What did you have for dinner?", "How did you sleep?" we ask. I can't think of anything I'd rather know.

You see, I'm in Denmark, but T is still in England; he's supposed to come over tomorrow evening for my cousin's wedding that we're attending on Saturday.

So I feel like I need to know what's going on, so I can prepare myself in the event that T isn't able to come tomorrow if planes out of Stansted are still affected.

Atleast the current hightened security measures should mean that right now is about the safest time to fly you could imagine.

Not a happy bunny today, very worried and frustrated. Please, ladies and gentlemen, cross your fingers for T's safe arrival here tomorrow evening. Thank you.

My bling-bling theory

I have a theory about why bling-bling is so popular with modern day rappers. And watching MTV or any similar outlet for music videos will probably show you that I'm right.

This is my theory: most rappers are not very attractive, so they have to make up for it somehow. And I suspect if you're sufficiently blinded by the bling-bling you wont notice how they look.

Although in some cases the bling seems to defy its purpose: some rappers sport gold/silver/diamonds on their teeth and someone please explain to me how that's supposed to be attractive!? Or maybe it's to hide the fact that they are wearing braces??

Bling-bling is pretty stupid if you ask me. Who cares that they wear designer clothes (some of them even wear their OWN design, yuck!) or diamonds as big as the Ritz? Is that measure of intelligence??

*This post is for entertainment purposes only. ;-)

But it's still a really, really great song. Click and look/listen to it!

My first Englan(d)niversary

The flats
Originally uploaded by wardi.
One year ago today, I came to England to live; not just to visit. It is weird to think that it's been a year already. At times I feel like I only just got here. At other times I feel like I've always been here. Odd.

Nothing much seems to have happened in this past year, yet it seems like there has been a lot of changes. It's probably mostly I who has changed.

When I met T, I'm glad I didn't know exactly how long it would be till we could be together properly: more than two years! And sometimes I feared it'd never happen, I'd never get here. But I made it, we made it, and now we've made it work for a year.

Not that there's been that much to work through. There have been a few differences. Mostly cultural differences. Isn't it funny how suddenly the smallest things can mean so much, when they didn't use to??

Moving here has been very different from what I expected, although I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting. There has been ups and downs, some of the downs have been very, very low, but those too passed and now I'm feeling like this is home.

Although I don't think England will ever be my home, if that makes any kind of sense.

But I'm here. With T. And I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Wardi does Pirates of the Caribbean II

On Sunday we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. And I highly recommend it. Spoilers ahoy, so if you haven't seen the film yet, but plan to, you might want to skip the rest of this post. And if you haven't seen the film, here's a wee bit of advice: stay till all the credits are over, there's an extra little scene then. ;-)

T's sister and her hubby had seen the film before us and apparently they thought the first half was a wee bit boring or too long or something. I thought it was really funny! Especially the bit with the cannibals who made Jack their god. And the pirates in the bone cages going up the cliff - too funny!!

Also, that bit reminded me quite a bit of the Ewoks' capturing of Han and the rest of the gang. So many similarities - if you've seen the film, I'm sure you'll agree.. (?)

Jack's escape from the cannibals... the fruits! Too funny!!

And I actually thought the second half was more boring. Maybe because I'm not that into prolonged sword fights and/or scenes that seem to be repeated. Hm.

The crew on the Flying Dutchman was inspired, I liked how they were all different kinds of sea animals/fish. Although it was a bit creepy too. I was happy to see Stellan Skarsgård as Boot Strap Bill. Dunno why. Maybe because I have a thing for all things Swedishh at the moment. But that's another post.

Johnny Depp was funny, but not quite as funny as in the first one. I liked that 'Norrington' (Jack Davenport) was in it again. He's just so English, I just can't get over how funny it is. Plus he's sporting a beard and on him that's not a bad thing. ^_^

Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, both a bit boring...

I liked the fight on Tortuga, and the fight between Norrington, Jack and Will on a..a... err... I have no idea what it's called... a big wheel like thing from a watermill...?? It was funny, whatever it's called.

Of course, Barbossa comes back, it's going to be interesting to see what role he'll play in the next film.

Oh, and there's the small thing of the Kraken. Is it just me or does it look somewhat similar to the Sarlacc?? Especially the mouth...

And now I'm getting distracted by stuff, so I'll leave you with this: go see the film.

And go take a look at my new shop! ;-)

We gotta get outta here

We like our flat, we like where it is. What we don't like, however, is the neighbours. Some of them anyway.

You know the kind. The "we park wherever the heck we want, even in areas where we're not supposed to" kind. The "we'll be exactly as noisy as it bloody well pleases us, who cares about the neighbours" kind. You know??

It's fucking annoying. Today someone has been noisy ALL DAY!! They are so loud you'd think they must be partially deaf - cause how can you keep shouting all day for no bloody reason?!!

Gawd!
