Hands and houses.

I've started doing little paintings of hands. Because I suck at doing hands, so I figured I'd better do something about that! The first attempt was shite, but the second one is coming along nicely. Atleast seen from a distance...

Hey...look! This is it! Although ours is not visible in this photo and it's nowhere near finished!

Flats!

A quacky post!

A pair of ducks seem to have made a home by a swimming pool that I pass every morning. That makes me chuckle.

Happy clicking, my darlings!

I was gonna type a big old rant about baggy pants, but I'm feeling too peaceful to lose my rag over that! For the moment that is!

Instead I give you links.

The original Geek Test. I scored in the high 20's... so I'm not worryingly geeky. ;-)

Why Work? Indeed, why? Ha.

The unspoken language of the office... So complicated...

The Haggis Hurl. Just about the oddest thing I've stumbled upon for a long time...

And a cousin of that, Poke A Sheep. Which I'm rubbish at.

Some interesting facts about Google. Atleast I think it is. And I'm not even 30% geek, so you can't trust me on such matters!

Oh THIS is fun! 8 (EIGHT!) fun arcade games from days long gone! Pac Man, Tetris, Space Incaders and more fun to boot!

The tin foil prank. Some people... Maybe they know these people??

The following I don't recall how I found, but I'm awfully happy I did! The entertainment value is amazing!
And it's not like storm troopers aren't ridiculous in the first place! I'm sure Luke didn't have any Coke! The cloak is big with this one! Ummm...I'm lost... what IS that?? So that's where Jedis get their gear, the Gap! Look at the size of that thing! Hey, that's actually not bad! I bet you didn't know Darth Vader likes it...ummm..nevermind.. Someone get that walking carpet out of my way!

Google, fetch!

Google, let me count the ways I use thee:
- the toolbar in my browser that even stops pop ups (how I loathe pop ups!)
- the text ad on this very blog
- my Gmail, oh lovely 1GB of email storage space! (I still got some invites left for that, btw!)
- even the very tool I use to write this, is part of Google
- I can download an application to my desktop that will help me search the files on my computer
- to search the Internet, is there anything you cannot find for me??

Apparently there is one thing that Google cannot find for me: where are my keys??

I would like to see a device in the near future that can either tell me where my keys are at any time, or be able to search for it for me. And in a way that doesn't make the whole house look like someone's gone through it with a truck! Is that so much to ask for??

I can see it now, little Minority Report-like spiders* that go through every nook and cranny to find my keys. Of course, they will find them in the last place they search, but that's the first law of searching, isn't it?!

*If you know anything about search engine technology, I believe the spider comparison won't be lost on you. Haha...

Wardi needs you!

I've emailed this to a number of people, but as I may have forgotten to include some or lost the address of others, I'm posting it here too, so please, feel free to join in!

April 2nd 2005 is the bicentennial of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen, the author of such fairy tales as Princess and the Pea, The Emperor's New Clothes and The Little Mermaid. I hope you have heard of him, and not only in the disneyfied version of the fairy tales!

Read more about this! It's a project! I hope you will join in! To make it even more fun!

The post that almost got away...

On Friday I was going home on the bus. This is a fairly common occurance. What is also quite common is that the busdriver will announce the approaching stops on the microphone in front of him/her. And usually they will turn it off in between talking into it.

Not so on Friday. The woman driving the bus kept it on all the time, and right by her mouth too (I know this cause I could see her in the rear view mirror). Therefor you could easily hear her say goodbye to people leaving the bus, as you could hear her chew her gum (Oh how I loathe people who chew gum so that other people can hear it!).

But the culmination was when she burped! Into the microphone! Which was still turned on!!

Now, it wasn't a very loud burp, and I might not even have noticed if I hadn't been looking at her in the mirror at that very moment! But there it was! A burp! In public, on an open mike!

I considered asking her if she had left the mike on intentionally, but I didn't...

So, thus ended the post that almost got away.

PS. In case you're wondering about my job, I'd love to tell you all about it, but I think talking about your job on your blog isn't always a good thing. (q.v.) However, I will say this, I'm liking it very much. I get to do stuff and the people are nice. The hours can be long, but that's ok, cause I'm learning stuff too.

Dammit!

Yesterday I had typed a perfectly funny and witty post and then I hit "Publish Post" and Blogger bloody swallowed it! And today I can't be arsed to write that same post again, so it'll have to wait!

Anyway, can you believe I'm actually watching ROTJ on telly right now? It's not like I've seen it like a gazillion times and got on DVD as well! But it's on telly, so I have to watch it. 'tis demanded by the gods it is!

Speaking of which... on Monday I've been a member of the SW.com forums for 3 years. Three whole bloody years! And not uneventful either, more on the contrary! Cripes!
But it's been good fun too! And I've met some great friends because of it. You know who you are!

Well, maybe tomorrow I'll pluck up the bother to post that thing from yesterday...

Oh and, it turns out the flat didn't fall through after all. The reasons for why the mortgage was accepted after all (cause that was the problem, but then it wasn't), I don't know. And I don't think T knows either. Funny business that. Anyway, we're good to go. Well, I wont believe it till it's an actual fact.

Apart from one thing...

I have remained spoiler free for 3 years. And I intend on keeping it that way. I've seen the Clone Wars cartoons, but I don't thinkt hat counts as a spoiler as they are not the film per se. And then I've seen the teaser trailer for the film and well, in keeping with the nature of a teaser, it did not reveal that much.

I've been following the situation in Lebanon and I'm quite worried. See, my friend Nancy lives there and I really, really hope that there wont be another civil war there. The country has only just begun to really shake off the grime and dust of war. Although I haven't had any contact with Nancy for several years, I sure as hell don't want anything to happen to her! Or her family!
I remember a few years back when the Israelis were bombing southern Lebanon and there were reports about black outs and the like. I was not happy about that! In fact, I was very worried and sad, and fearing the worst!

Today's bad news: the flat fell through. Bummer. :-(

Recommendations. Smile!

If you want to get along with me, bear in mind that I'm a mix of these three Enneagram types: 4, 5, 9. What about you?

There's more to a smile than you might think! You can even tell where people are from, just by looking at their smile.

“I see a bit of the full risorius in Tony Blair, but the American political elite cannot do it any more, which is a bit sad,” he said. “They have lost that dignity. In blind tests George Bush’s smile emerged as cynical rather than pleasurable.”

And remember, the expression that's usually on your face, will determine how your face will look when you get old, so make sure you banish the frown! And make your smile a sincere one!

Common Errors in English.

I don't remember if I've mentioned Wikipedia before, but I'd just like to point your attention to it. It's an excellent encyclopedia that is written collaboratively by its readers. The site is a Wiki, meaning that anyone can edit almost any article. It covers a lot of subjects, the English version currently has some 491,000 articles. Other languages are for example German, Swedish, Esperanto and even Danish. However, these aren't as large as the English one... Well, check it out!

When GMail was first announced, I thought that it was too good to be true (and the timing, that it was announced on April 1st, didn't exactly bode well, you know!). And what about the google ads and what about privacy in using it??

Well, now that I've been using GMail for a wee bit (thanks for the invite, Odie!), I must say I'm equally surprised at how unobtrusive the ads are (if you're used to google, you can more or less 'zone out' the ads...) and delighted by some of the features.

I am especially loving the conversation style of the emails. It's like a mix of IM and email. Also the fact that the inbox refreshes itself, is just one of those little things that are just so nice! So time saving!

So, should you like a GMail account (it does, after all, come with 1,000 MB of space, which is more than most people will ever need!), I've got 50 invites for it, so send me an email or contact me on MSN and it'll be right along.

Now with skin care.

Why spend ridiculous amounts of money on cremes and the like when you can follow my simple recipe and have soft and smooth skin at a fraction of the cost??

Here is what you do:
Take a small bowl and in this bowl you mix the following together:
(fresh!) juice of half a lime fruit
(try to get some of the flesh (? is that what you call it?? Anyway...) into the mix as well, cause there's a lot of goodness in it!)
2 table spoons of sugar
2 tea spoons of table salt
(if you prefer, you can just use either sugar or salt, but since they are of slightly different sizes, together they will get into all the pores...)
approx. 1 table spoon olive oil

And now you're ready to slap it onto your face. Do remember to rinse it off again, cause it will get pretty sticky because of the sugar. And don't eat it either, cause there's quite a lot of salt in that and eating that would probably make you quite ill!

There's more than enough in this portion to make your face nice and smooth, so you can easily share it with your girl friend or your sister or whomever else might profit from such a treatment. I suspect if you make a double portion, there should be enough to give your whole body a good scrub.

And who doesn't like soft skin??

Tell me how it went!

Wardrobe Brain malfunction.

Barely hidden nipplage! *sigh*

I bet that sorta behaviour wouldn't have been allowed in the US. Had she done it there, I wonder how many law suits she would have been in? Although, getting her to stay in any kind of suit seems to be quite the task...

Sorry, I can't, I have to work.

From Tuesday I can use that excuse without lying. Cause I've got the job I had the interview for yesterday. How happy am I?? Quite a lot!

It's only for 4 weeks, but there's the possibility that the job becomes permanent, so fingers crossed!

I'll be doing a bit of this and a bit of that, in the areas of AD, creative and some web work. Lovely-jubbly.

I don't know what else to say about it. I barely know what I will be actually doing...

I hope you have a happy weekend!

Snow news day...

No updates for a few days, have you missed me? I thought that Oscar post might keep y'all busy for a couple of days...

I've been busy too! I got a call yesterday from a company I've sent an application to, ages ago, and they wanted me to send them a sample of some work and that lead to me being called in for an interview this afternoon. To my sheer delight, the guy I talked to liked what he saw in my portfolio, so go me! If it goes through I'll get a "kinda job" for 4 weeks and then..who knows... Fingers crossed!

In other news, sometime today visit no. 5,000 (this coincides with the 1st anniversary of having a counter on the site, amazing, yet trivial, stuff!) to this site will take place. I'd throw a party, but honestly I'm too knackered... Sorry, chaps!

In yet other news there's a lot of snow in Denmark still. Especially Tuesday and Wednesday it snowed pretty much all day! Yay for the white stuff!
