Stitch memory
This is a shot from my parents' living that I took when we were last in Denmark. Flowers from their garden. I made the cushion covers. I only just noticed how well they go with that vase.. :-)
The embroideries on the cushions are made from a couple of my sketches from Rome. I can only recommend embellishing cushions (or other things) in this way. You don't even have to use drawings. You could just use a picture from a holiday. It will give you enjoyment twice: while working on the embroidery you'll be taken back to that time and place and afterwards you get to live with your memories in a tactile form. Not buried in a photo album. ;-)
Eventually I will get similar ones made for us as well. One day. For now I'll enjoy seeing these when we visit my parents. Which isn't that far away now, less than 7 weeks. I can live with that.Labels: denmark, embroidery
