Sleep + eat
This is (part of) the view from our hotel room. The church is Santa Maria Maggiore, one of Rome's grandest churches. From the terrace at the top of the hotel you can look directly down on the church. If you're tall enough to look over the wall, that is. If you're not, you'll have to settle for looking at the top of the church and the column in front of it. Oh, and a view of the rest of Rome.
Our hotel room! As you can see, Tony's books had already made themselves comfortable by the time I took this picture. The wallpaper wasn't wallpaper at all, but fabric. Rather fancy.
As you can imagine, being a pizza fiend, I had to have pizza for dinner on the first night in Rome. And bloody delicious it was as well! Simple Margherita pizza is all I need. Simple is best when it comes to pizza. Luckily, that is exactly how Italians make it. Not a bit of pineapple in sight!
