Puffy sleeve - HELP!

Look at this pretty new blouse I bought yesterday. The colours are a bit unusual for me, but I really like it. However, I didn't try it on at the shop (Tony was getting very impatient, you know how it is!) and I hadn't noticed the puffy sleeves. Puffy sleeves are BAD on me! Maybe it would have been ok if the sleeve itself had been longer, but it is really short and looks like weird flaps sitting there on my shoulders.

So, it has to go back. Unless I can alter it somehow. This is where you come in: do you know how to turn puffy sleeves into more 'normal' sleeves? Considering that there is very little fabric to work with. Or do you have a link to a puffy sleeve resource?

I really, really want to keep this blouse, but I also really, really don't want to wear it like it is.

Oh yes, maybe I should just mention that I've never made any clothing myself or altered clothes, so nothing too complicated! ;-)
