Hello 2007!

I'm feeling a wee bit under the weather, but I went to work anyway (despite having slept poorly last night), and in hindsight that probably wasn't such a good idea. So if I'm not feeling any better on the morrow, I think I'll be staying home (what a way to start the new year, but atleast I'll get to be with T on his last day off...). The peeps at work will no doubt think I've been out binging on New Year's festivities, much teasing to follow...

Anyway. I'm trying to look back at 2006 and the first thing that comes to mind is: "getting a sewing machine". That's not such a big thing, but in a way, it is. My life has changed (not just because of the sewing machine) and I've embraced a whole new way of being creative. Something I never thought would ever happen. Neither did my mum; and she's ever so proud of me (and she tells me so often: thanks mum!).

All this sewing has taught me to be more patient (or maybe I've become more patient and so I was able to finally figure out this sewing lark?) and also to embrace mistakes more (what mistakes? they are PROTOTYPES!) and also, I think, I've become more courageous: I'd never thought I could participate in something like a craft fair before!

It has been a very creative year for me: more drawing, which is very back to basics for me, and I'm loving that a lot. Lots and lots of photography (and lots of walks by the river).

Then I got a job at the end of the year and not much time to do all the creating - hopefully, I'll have more time for that next year, although I don't know yet if I actually get to keep my job in the new year. But fingers crossed for that (although with slightly less hours!).

We're going to Denmark at the end of January, I can't wait. It's going to be so nice to get away for a wee bit. I think we need a holiday. And we deserve one!

Ok, enough babbling... I've watched the (Danish) Queen's New Years speech, and will be watching Dinner for One in a wee bit, both are traditions in my family on New Years Eve (although it would appear that my dad and I are the only ones who appreciate the Dinner...), so I'm ready for 2007 to roll out. And as soon as it does, I'll be heading off to bed!

I wish you a very happy, prosperous and glorious New Year!
