June Pincushion Challenge

Originally uploaded by wardi. I am early with this one! Wahey! And I didn't just make one pincushion - I made two. Go me!
Anyway, enough patting myself on the back. Although I'm just so chuffed with these pincushions, I can't help myself!
They are water lilies. So that's the flower part, and they are pincushions. But wait, there's MORE! Cause it's also a brooch. Although a fairly large one.
The reason it's a brooch as well is that when I'm sewing something by hand or embroidering, I have a bad habit of sticking my needle into my t-shirt when I change the thread. And that is potentially dangerous, right?!
So I had this flash of inspiration while I was doing some sketches for the flower pincushions - why not wear the pincushion?? So here they are. I think I'm gonna have to do some more actually... ;-)
