Beauty all around us

How truly in touch with God ,nature and the world around them were the early christian monks.
You just have to look at the places they chose to build their monasteries. Now I cant speak for other places in Europe but here in Ireland they always seemed to choose a place where God was present in nature and the beauty was there to constantly remind them of it.

Places like
Glendalough > http://www.westga.edu/~lvg/glendalough2.jpg
Clonmacnoise > http://www.enchantingireland.com/PhotoAlbums/Gallery/Clonmacnoise.jpg
Skellig Michael > http://www.adamandlyn.co.uk/images/skel_view.jpg
Iona > http://www.bluewolfen.co.uk/photographs/Scotland/images/35%20Iona.jpg
To name a few.

The reason I mention this is that to watch the sun rise over such vistas with the only sounds being the song of the birds and the ebb and flow of the tide is a very spiritual experience.Even in this day and age there are still places to do so even in the midst of modern towns and cities.

Go out search them out and find that little piece of calm and spirituality it can truly calm your troubled heart and soul.
