Habemvs papam
Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum;
habemus Papam:
Eminentissimum ac Reverendissimum Dominum,
Dominum Josephum
Sanctae Romanae Ecclesiae Cardinalem Ratzinger
qui sibi nomen imposuit Benedictum XVI*
The Catholics have a new pope - after what has probably been the shortest conclave ever! And apparently someone who will follow the lead of JPII. And considering his age, a transitional pope as well. Makes you wonder; will the pope after Benedict XVI be a more modern pope?
Well, you've probably already seen him on telly (this election of the new pope has seemed more like [insert country of choice] Idol and not like an ancient ritual!), so I'll spare you the boredom of posting a picture. Instead, here's a picture I took in St. Peter's Square in January of 1998. I love Rome, people!

*Anyone else who understands this? ;-)
