Sorry, But I Just Can't Hear That Clock Ticking Yet!

Internet, I think my dad secretly wishes he had grandchildren.

Let me explain why I think so. The other evening some of the neighbours came over in the evening and they sat outside. They had their little son (all of 7 years old!) with them; and my dad took it upon himself to entertain the little fellow. Started up a game for him on the computer, got him a drink. Made sure it was the right drink, even exchanged the soda so it was the exact one the kid had asked for.

Yesterday the kid came over to tell my parents that he had learnt to ride his bicycle. But they weren't in, and he looked very disappinted. Today he came back, and very proudly told my dad that he had learnt to ride the bike. And my dad was very nice to him, chatting when the kid showed off his bike. And the kid kept leaving and coming back.

My dad was also copying a film for the kid, showing him how it worked and such. Being very patient with him.

I dunno. I don't think I'm ready for anybody calling my parents grandma and grandad.
