More Of Sunshine

I absolutely loved Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. It's sorta confusing, but I was expecting that, after all, it's Charlie Kaufman who penned it. If you haven't seen it already, pop round a movie theatre close to you or rent it. I won't get into what it's about for fear Imight give something away. But if you liked Being John Malkovich and Adaptation (although I haven't seen that one..), you should enjoy this one a lot.

The title of the film comes from an Alexander Pope poem: Eloisa to Abelard.
Now, I would put up the whole poem, but it's rather long (click here to be transported to the poem and see for yourself), so I'll just give you the bit where the title is from.

How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd;
Labour and rest, that equal periods keep;
"Obedient slumbers that can wake and weep;"
Desires compos'd, affections ever ev'n,
Tears that delight, and sighs that waft to Heav'n.
Grace shines around her with serenest beams,
And whisp'ring angels prompt her golden dreams.
For her th' unfading rose of Eden blooms,
And wings of seraphs shed divine perfumes,
For her the Spouse prepares the bridal ring,
For her white virgins hymeneals sing,
To sounds of heav'nly harps she dies away,
And melts in visions of eternal day.

It's been raining every dat for almost 2 weeks now. It's really depressing. Hopefully it'll let up for the weekend when T comes over. Don't want to be stuck inside all weekend! ..although I suppose that can be fun too. ;-)
